Bio

As a child, I disassembled my father's camera to see how it actually worked. Later, like many kids in the late 90s, I became a "photographer," capturing images of family gatherings with a film point-and-shoot camera.

In 2007 as a PhD student in Computer Science needing a break from screen time, I turned to photography once again. Hoping to grasp how photography truly functions, I enrolled in several classes on photo composition, darkroom printing, and art history. It turns out, photography is much more than just a hobby, it’s a way of perceiving the world. In my 15 years being a photographer, I got nearly formal education in this field, finished multiple projects, had several exhibitions both in the US and in Europe.

These days, my photography work is primarily focused on the human stories and their relationship with the place they live in. My most recent stories cover Californian hippies in Kathmandu, idol sculptors, and Chinatown of San Francisco.
