4 Excuses

It's been a while since I posted something in the blog. Well, I have four excuses for that.

Firstly, this March 81bees collective had an exhibition called "Coastal" in McLaren Lodge, San Francisco. This exhibition was made in collaboration with Harvey Milk Photo Center and featured 11 artists from 81bees. I'm very proud to say that I was one of them.

The California coastal zone is a boundary or buffer zone between the sea and the land. It is neither one nor the other but rather a space by itself created by the melding of these two entities. This group of photographs reflects a very personal vision of what this space evokes. It comes from an interaction that is very direct and the artworks reflect the calm and tranquil nature that this zone elicits both visually as well as emotionally.

Secondly, this June I was invited to hold a short lecture at Harvey Milk Photo Center. The talk was a bit scary, spontaneous (mostly because of my jet lag), surprisingly challenging, slightly unprepared and (hopefully) interesting. Instead of speaking about a particular project, I talked about the mistakes which I made and lessons which I learned on my windy photographic path.

Thirdly, one of my images was published at L'Oeil De La Photographie in their "My Holiday Pictures" section. It's a big and very influential magazine and I'm excited to be featured there! Here is the image that was chosen.

Finally, a small part of my new photographic project was included into the recent issue of #PHOTOGRAPHY Magazine. Yay!
